Dollar Box

February 20th, 2007 at 08:34 pm

Here how it works: I have been putting my dollar bills into an old wine box whenever I got home. I never counted them until today. I figured that it would be better if I didn't. Since I am on this new journal I counted it today and will be updating the count every week.

Dollar Box Count

$268

Now that I have this amount I will be transferring it to a money market fund.

    Wow. That's a great start.

Yes, that's a... good start. However, you might want to considering sticking it in a bank saving's account? Some accounts out there pay out more than 5% in interest.

Also, if you working and you have direct deposit, you can divert a small portion of your paycheck towards a separate savings account, and it'll automatically save that way.

It's just a thought. I'm glad you're saving though. Smile

If you open an ING savings account with $250 you get a $25 bonus, you just have to leave the money in there for six months. The interest rate is 4.5% right now. But the bonus is an instant 10% gain. If you are interested in this I can send you an invite with the bonus offer. Just leave a reply on my blog which you can get to by clicking on my name in blue just above if you'd like one.
