I had friends in town this weekend and totally spent too much money. I do not recall how much was spent and where. I am upset with myself and the whole purpose of the savings blog was to help me get a handle on my savings. I guess it is like a diet- if you over indulge you do not dwell on it you just get back on track. That is what I am going today.

Dollar Box

Here how it works: I have been putting my dollar bills into an old wine box whenever I got home. I never counted them until today. I figured that it would be better if I didn't. Since I am on this new journal I counted it today and will be updating the count every week.

Now that I have this amount I will be transferring it to a money market fund.

Starting to Save

February 20th, 2007 at 11:23 am

Today I started this blog to help me in my savings for an engagment ring for my girlfriend. This has been a long time coming and my lack of willpower in saving has been a problem.

However if I make it known to the world then my mission might be easier. So today I want to let people know where I am and update everyone weekly to let them know how far along I am.

Wish me luck.
